Are Amerace® transformers termite proof? |

| This is an interesting question, and unfortunately, it is one to which we do not have a definitive answer. Here is what we do know. |

Our products are used in many places where one would expect to have termites, e.g. Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Guyana, Surinam, and we have had no reports of problems. (This may be partly attributable to the use of conduit systems rather than direct burial.) |

We have no reason to expect that our transformers or cables will be immune to direct attack by termites, but we really don't know. One of the frustrating things that we have found in reviewing this subject over the years has been that there does not appear to be any definitive test for termite resistance. Rather, successful long term use is the only real test, so essentially a user needs to assume there will be no problem, and proceed.
