Why is it necessary to know the O.D. of the wire or cable? Aren't the gage and voltage rating enough? |

These kits are designed to be totally watertight, and to be so, they must grip the outside of the wire or cable ‘like a rubber band’. It is, therefore, necessary to know the O.D. of the wire or cable so the kit housing I.D. can be chosen to grip tightly enough. See Interference Fit for a full description. |
