Q: |
Your literature says that fixture leads are double bonded. What does this mean, and why is it important? |
A: |
Double bonding means that the connector is bonded both to the cable and to the metal pins of the connector. This prevents water from moving down the strands. This is particularly important with inset fixtures, because they are sealed units. As their temperature rises and falls, it provides a ‘pumping’ action, and if the connector is not double bonded, over time water may be drawn into the fixture. |
